It's Christmas Time - How To Get Started In Affiliate Marketing This Christmas Season

The busiest shopping month of the whole year is here. Millions and millions of dollars will be spent online each day between now and Christmas. Between all of those customers and your shrinking bank account, how can you afford not to get started in affiliate marketing now? Here’s how to do it! Step 1: Open An Account With Commission Junction I don’t get a penny for promoting Commission Junction. I promote Commission Junction because they are the affiliate company I used to get started. They have hundreds of products that you can sell for absolutely free. In fact, it will cost you nothing to get started in affiliate marketing right now. Just visit Commission Junction at www.cj.com to sign-up (for free) and get access to hundreds of products people will be buying this Christmas season. Step 2: Choose The Products You Will Promote Commission Junction separates their products into categories (i.e. Books, Seasonal, Entertainment, Health, etc). This makes it very easy to find products that you want to sell. Pay attention to each product’s EPC. EPC stands for earnings per 100 clicks. The EPC for every product is shown on Commission Junction. For example, on average, you might earn $76.43 for every 100 clicks on product #1 and $45.23 for every 100 clicks on product #2. All things being equal, you should choose to promote product #1 because you will earn more with it. Keep in mind, in affiliate marketing, you earn money by selling a product not by getting people to click on the product. The EPC is just a way of measuring how popular the product is and how well it sells once people see it. Step 3: Place The Product On Your Website or Blog Don’t be intimidated by this step. It is very, very simple. When you choose a product from Commission Junction, they automatically generate a few lines of code for you to copy and paste onto your website. Copying this code will put the advertisement right on your website or blog immediately. From that point on, Commission Junction tracks everything such as number of clicks, sales, and commissions earned.
