It Is Better To Meet a Mother Bear Who Has Lost Her Cubs Than To Meet an Angry Person

We all know how angry a bear can get if someone has taken her baby cubs. Needless to say, you don’t want to get in her way. But did you know that it would be better to meet the angry mother bear than to meet a perpetually angry person? Here’s why. The Bible teaches that a person that cannot control their anger is dangerous and deadly. Proverbs 17:12 - Let a bear robbed of her whelps meet a man, rather than a fool in his folly. The Bible actually teaches that a person who can’t control their temper is a foolish person. That’s just a nice way of saying they are a fool. The folly of fool can be many things – it depends on what his weakness is. If his weakness his lust, then his downfall will be adultery or other sexual acts. If a fool’s weakness is greed, then his downfall might be hoarding money or working too much. But if a fool’s weakness is his temper, and he can’t control his temper, the Bible says that it is better to meet a bear who has been robbed of her baby cubs than it is to meet a man who can’t control his temper. Why? Because this type of person is dangerous. We are seeing this more in our generation now than in any previous generation. We have got every type of rage imaginable. We have road rage. We have shopping rage. We have kids going on rampages in school. We are eaten up with rage. The deadliness of people not being able to control themselves is becoming more and more evident in our society. The Bible taught us that it would. |
