Announcing 2 Reasons Why You Should Never Mistreat Your Family Members

One of the most dangerous things you can do inside the home is mistreat one of your family members. It’s wrong on so many different levels. Why? 1. Your family member is the person that you love; the person that has been put into your life to care for. Most likely, it is someone that you will be with for the rest of your life. 2. The Bible tells us that mistreating a family member causes God to intervene. God hates to see you mistreat anyone that He has put into your life to love and protect. I Peter 3:7 says, “Likewise, ye husbands, dwell with them according to knowledge, giving honor unto the wife, as unto the weaker vessel, and as being heirs together of the grace of life; that your prayers be not hindered.” The Bible is specifically speaking to husbands here since they are the authority in the home, and husbands are generally more likely to mistreat others because of their dominate personality and authority. The Bible clearly states that if you do not honor your wife, then your prayers will be hindered. I believe that if God is not working for you, then at best, He will let your actions bring the negative consequences that they deserve. At worse, if God is not working for you, He may be working against you. I don’t think that it is a far stretch to assume that this principle applies to any relationship in the home. Husbands, don’t mistreat your wife. Wives, don’t mistreat your husbands. Parents, don’t mistreat your children. Mistreating your family members could very well force God to work against you. How much more pleasant would life be if we just go along with people? Just imagine if we did not mistreat them, we were not mean to them, and we were not ugly to them. |
